M21 ClpP inhibitor Press Conference

Press conference for our work on M21 -- a multi-virulence factors suppressor, acting on the protein ClpP. Virulence factors are non-essential genes of pathogens, not required for their basic survival, but will allow them to have advantage during a host infection. Allowing them to be pathogenic in the case of infection, commonly related to toxin productions, host immune cells neutralization, biofilm formation etc. Through the identification of small molecules inhibitors from our chemical libraries, we have identified M21 as an inhibitor of ClpP, thereby inhibiting the production of several virulence factors.
